Lorenzo Trujillo began his musical training at the age of four on the violin.   By age six, he could be seen performing throughout Colorado and New Mexico and by age 8, was winning solo competitions on violin and piano.   As a young musical prodigy, Lorenzo could be seen conducting his high school orchestra and frequently directing his high school jazz band.

Lorenzo now holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Louisville, a Master of Fine Arts from the California Institute of the Arts, and a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles, all in trumpet performance.   Lorenzo has performed in over 400 cities in 4 countries and has studied, performed, and recorded a wide variety of classical, jazz, and popular styles.   He was the recipient of full-tuition music scholarships at the University of Louisville, the California Institute of the Arts, the University of California Los Angeles, and the Manhattan School of music, as well as a full-tuition academic fellowship for doctoral studies at the University of California Los Angeles.

Lorenzo has performed as a soloist with the Lindenwood University Jazz Band, the University of Missouri-Saint Louis Jazz Ensemble, Orchestra, and Symphonic Band, The Bakersfield Symphony, the UCLA Philharmonia, and has performed on stage with The Jim Widner Big Band, The Saint Louis Philharmonic Orchestra, The Saint Louis Brass Band, The American Youth Symphony, The John La Barbera Big Band, Allen Vizzutti, Jens Lindemann, Frankie Valli, Mary Wilson, Travis Tritt, Michael MacDonald, Gregory Hines, Taylor Dayne, Jon Faddis, Phil Woods, Curtis Fuller, Jimmy Heath, James Moody, Pat La Barbera, Bill Watros, Kenny Burrell, Gerald Wilson, Wayne Bergeron, Lew Soloff, Joe La Barbera, Harry Connick, Poncho Sanchez, Papa Rodriguez, Sheila E., Charlie Haden, Delfeyo Marsalis, Bob Mintzer, Robin Eubanks, John Fedchock, Brad Leali, Nelson Rangell, Don Braden, Dick Lowenthal, Kenny Werner, Ron Miles, Marcus Printup, and has opened for Linda Ronstadt.   Lorenzo's professional experience has also included two seasons as principal trumpet with the Lyric Opera of Los Angeles and he is currently teaching at Lindenwood University in Saint Charles, Missouri.
